1908 Sanborn map shows a rooming house in this location, and the 1926 version shows a variety store and a tiny cobbler shop adjoining, presumably in the same structure. At any rate, this structure was presumably torn down in 1926 or 1927, since a new masonry building was built in 1928 with Louis Wade listed as owner as of 1935 and the property used as "office". Current occupant Chris Dillon, owner of Isadora's Antiques since 1990, says that at one time the structure housed a tavern, known as "Dave's", or the "Falls" tavern, the back bar of which is now on display at Glazier's Antiques in North Bend. In 1985 the building housed Snoqualmie Mercantile, owned by Doug and Judy Dammerell. Later run by Chris as the Black Dog. |
